METHODS: An immune response was created in guinea pigs by systemically sensitizing the animals to keyhole limpet hemocyanin and subsequently challenging the inner ear with the protein. Seventy-three women experienced bilateral proximal tubal occlusion caused by adhesions or polyps arising from the uterotubal junction in at least one tube. There were no other identifiable causes of infertility. All patients were treated with cryosurgery, which restored tubal patency in 61 (83.6%). Of 45 women with restored patency, who were followed 6 to 12 months, 20 (27.4% of 73) conceived and 16 (21.9%) delivered viable babies.

The visual acuity of the patient with ethambutol optic neuropathy will recover within 3 to 4 months after discontinuing the drug. We studied the extent of the recovery of other visual functions. Thirty-six axial type ethambutol optic neuropathy patients, who visited our neuro-ophthalmology clinic from January, 1990, to December, 1993, were included in this study. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the possibility that ORBEYE (OE), a novel instrument that excludes eyepiece lenses and allows for microsurgery by observation of the 4K3D monitor, could replace microscopes.
METHODS: We report 22 clinical cases by 5 experienced neurosurgeons and the comparative results of training 10 residents. An observation study with questionnaire survey was conducted on usability. Twelve items including image quality, eyestrain, and function of the arm were evaluated.
