Heterogeneous trajectories of family resilience and their predictors among family caregivers of older adults receiving maintenance hemodialysis: a longitudinal study.

OBJECTIVE: To identify heterogeneous trajectories of family resilience among family caregivers of older adults receiving Maintenance Hemodialysis (MHD) and to explore their key baseline predictors. METHODS: A convenience sample of 237 primary family caregivers from five tertiary hospitals was assessed at four time points: initiation of dialysis (T0), and at 3 (T1), 6 (T2), and 12 (T3) months post-initiation. Family resilience, caregiver burden, and social support were measured using validated scales. Latent Class Growth Modeling (LCGM) was used to identify distinct resilience trajectory class…

Understanding the Relationship Between Early Elementary Children's ADHD Symptoms and Teachers' Needs Supportive Practices.

OBJECTIVE: Many children with diagnosed and subclinical ADHD struggle with low academic motivation in early elementary. Fortunately, teachers' needs' supportive practices (NSPs) can mitigate motivational challenges and protect against disengagement and underachievement. Teachers' NSPs include autonomy support, structure, and positive student-teacher relationships that target children's motivational resources (i.e., autonomy, competency, and relatedness) needed to engage with school materials. Particularly, autonomy support practices fuel children's feelings of autonomy, structure caters to fee

Reducing Lower Extremity Amputations via Peer Support Interventions: A Scoping Review.

Patients with diabetes and/or peripheral artery disease (PAD) are at risk for lower limb amputation and a subsequently higher mortality risk. Peer support interventions have been shown to increase diabetes self-management and glycemic control. This scoping review aims to synthesize the current literature on peer support interventions in reducing lower limb amputations. A PubMed search was conducted in June of 2023, excluding publications prior to 2000, focusing on two themes: (1) peer support and (2) the patient population of interest (i.e., individuals with diabetic foot disease and/or PAD).

Experiences and Outcomes of Peer Navigation and Support Interventions for Adolescents on HIV Treatment in Sub-Saharan Africa: A Qualitative Evidence Synthesis.

Adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) face ongoing challenges with treatment adherence and engagement in care, resulting in lower viral suppression rates compared to adults. Peer navigation has shown promise in supporting psychosocial well-being and adherence among adults, but evidence specific to adolescents in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) remains limited. This qualitative evidence synthesis (QES) describes and assesses the quality of qualitative and mixed-methods studies on peer navigation and support interventions for ALHIV receiving antiretroviral therapy in SSA. Culturally adapted post-diagnostic dementia support for South Asian people living with dementia and caregivers: a rapid review.

BACKGROUND: The number of minority ethnic people living with dementia (PLWD) in the UK is predicted to rise to 50 000 by 2026 and 172 000 by 2051. As the global population ages, there is a greater need to develop culturally appropriate post-diagnostic support for PLWD from minority ethnic backgrounds. METHODS: A rapid review was conducted of culturally adapted post-diagnostic dementia support for South Asian people with dementia and carers. Eight electronic databases were searched from inception until 16 September 2025. Databases included Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literatu

Relational Patterns of Support and Communication in Families with a Child Diagnosed with Autism: an Interpretive Phenomenological Study.

BACKGROUND: The impact of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be far-reaching for families. Research has shown that neurotypical (NT) siblings can experience negative and positive implications of ASD in their lives. However, researchers have not fully captured the factors associated with successful adaptation to the range of experiences, particularly regarding NT siblings and the relational support from and communication with their parents. METHODS: We utilized an interpretive phenomenological analysis to illuminate and better understand NT siblings' experiences of parental support and communi

Quality of life and appraisal factors of patients with advanced cancer and their family caregivers.

PURPOSE: Few existing interventions have effectively improved the quality of life (QOL) for patients with advanced cancer and their caregivers, partly due to limited research on the factors associated with QOL. Guided by an adapted stress-coping model, this study aimed to examine the associations between the QOL of cancer patients and their caregivers and their primary and secondary appraisals. Primary appraisals involve perceptions and evaluations of advanced cancer and related caregiving, while secondary appraisals relate to their available resources and coping capabilities. METHODS: Using
