OBJECTIVE: Any erythrocyte transfusion among humans having type A or B blood groups is impossible due to antibodies causing fatal transfusion complications. A cross-match test is performed to prevent immune transfusion complications before transfusion. BACKGROUND: Keratin 15 (K15) is a type I keratin that is used as a marker of stem cells. Its expression is restricted to the basal layer of stratified epithelia, and the bulge in hair follicles. The present study was designed to investigate the putative effect of vitexin, a flavone C-glucoside present in some drugs, medicinal plants and nutraceuticals, on the central nervous system.
