Chronic viral infections are characterized by a state of CD8+ T-cell dysfunction that is associated with expression of the programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) inhibitory receptor. This study shows that naive CD8 T cells can acquire characteristics of memory T cells in the absence of stimulation with specific Ag simply by the process of homeostatic proliferation under lymphopenic conditions. This Ag-independent T cell differentiation pathway did not result in up-regulation of early activation markers (CD69, CD25, CD71), but expression of several memory markers (CD44, CD122, Ly6C) increased progressively with successive divisions. Objective: To explore the composition of ascites lymphocytes in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) and its correlation with clinical features. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the clinical characteristics and prognosis of patients with T-cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia (T-LGLL).
METHODS: The clinical data of 7 patients with T-LGLL in Gansu Provincial Hospital from March 2016 to June 2023 were analyzed retrospectively.
RESULTS: Among the 7 patients, 5 were male and 2 were female, with a median age of 51(28-83) years old. At the onset of illness, 6 cases showed symptoms of fatigue and anemia, 4 cases had enlarged lymph nodes, and 5 cases had splenomegaly. BACKGROUND AND AIMS: A histopathological feature considered indicative of ulcerative colitis (UC) is the so-called basal lymphoid aggregates. Their relevance in the pathogenesis of UC is, however, unknown. We have performed a comprehensive analysis of the immune cells in these aggregates most likely corresponding to the lymphoid follicular hyperplasia also described in other colitides.
