Aflatoxin B1(AFB1), zearalenone(ZEN), and alternariol(AOH) are major mycotoxins that threaten food safety, yet enzymes capable of detoxifying these structurally diverse toxins remain limited. In this study, two enzymes from Bacillus velezensis HNGD-JQ06, laccase BVLac and superoxide dismutase BV2SOD, were identified as broad-spectrum detoxification candidates. BVLac degraded 93.33% of AFB1 at 60 °C and pH 7.0, 94.10% of ZEN at 60 °C and pH 8.0, and 96.87% of AOH at 50 °C and pH 8.0. An unusual strain of Pseudomonas putida UUC-1 capable of growth at high salicylate concentration (10 gl-1) was investigated with the aim of developing an assay and a biosensor system for determining salicylate in body fluids by utilizing the salicylate hydroxylase enzyme. The methanolic extract of fresh tea leaves of Camellia sinensis L. (Theaceae) (CS) was assayed for its potential to inhibit enzymes with hydrolytic activity in Naja naja kaouthia Lesson (Elapidae) and Calloselasma rhodostoma Kuhl (Viperidae) venoms. These snake venom enzymes are responsible for the early effects of envenomation, such as local tissue damage and inflammation. In order to define transmission routes of cryptosporidiosis and develop markers that distinguish Cryptosporidium parvum isolates, we have identified 2 polymorphic restriction enzyme sites in a C. parvum repetitive DNA sequence. The target sequence was amplified by polymerase chain reaction from 100 to 500 oocysts and the amplified product was subjected to restriction enzyme digestion.
