The aim of this study was to investigate the expression level of the SALL4 gene and its clinical significance in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). We developed a module of the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory (MDASI) for patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). To develop the MDASI-CML, we identified CML-specific symptoms from qualitative interviews with 35 patients. BACKGROUND: In the ALL-BFM studies for treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, reduction of leukemic blasts in peripheral blood after a one-week prednisone pre-phase - the so-called prednisone response - has been used for risk stratification since the 1980s and has been one of the most relevant factors for identification of high-risk patients.
