The choice between external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) or retropubic radical prostatectomy (RPX) as potentially curative treatment for localized carcinoma of the prostate gland (CaP) has not been delineated in randomized studies. A cohort of 259 consecutive patients with non-resectable adenocarcinoma of the lung (ACL) received chemotherapy and were followed until death with 124 cases examined by autopsy (autopsy rate 48%).
