Three dogs with demodectic mange uncomplicated by a bacterial infection and 9 dogs with demodectic mange and pyoderma were tested for their lymphocyte response to phytomitogens in vitro and for the presence of the serum's lymphocyte immunoregulatory factors (SLIF) suppressing blastogenesis. Mumps antibody response and the development of cell-mediated immunity (CMI) to mumps antigen as assayed by the lymphocyte blast transformation method were studied after immunization with an inactivated mumps vaccine in seven sero-negative and ten sero-positive subjects. The transformation response of peripheral blood lymphocytes to mumps antigen generally appeared by 20 weeks post vaccination and reached levels found in sero-positive subjects years after mumps infection. There was no clear-cut correlation between the magnitude of blast transformation and antibody responses.

As to its allergising capability Chloramphenicol holds a leading position. That's why the evidence of an existing sensibilisation is important. But there is a controversy concerning the usual lymphocyte transformation test (LTT). With the help of comparing tests (patch-test - LTT) a high rate of equal results between both the methods is shown. Thus, the efficiency of LTT basing on morphological analysing criteria, which is used for the evidence of an existing Chloramphenicol-sensibilisation seems to be proved.

The lymphocyte transformation test was used to assess cell-mediated immune reactivity in 107 Ethiopian patients with syphilis. Lymphocytes from patients with early syphilis were unreactive to the Nichols strain of Treponema pallidum, which was in marked contrast to previous findings in similar patients in England. In 139 persons occupationally exposed to compounds of chromium, formaldehyde and p-phenylenediamine lymphocytic transformation test (ltt) was performed to detect a delayed-type hypersensitivity. In patients suffering from either contact dermatitis or allergic respiratory diseases the findings of ltt were concordant only in about one third of the cases in comparison to patch testing, intracutaneous test, nasal provocation or inhalation test.
