We report the case of a 17-year-old boy who experienced 4 episodes of exercise-induced anaphylactic reaction after ingestion of lentil and 2 episodes of anaphylaxis following ingestion of chickpea. A literature review shows that airborne enzymes occurring in the general environment and in purified form in industrial production have a high allergenic potential to the airways, causing rhinitis, conjunctivitis and asthma.
