BACKGROUND: This study aimed to compare the rates of recurrence, complications, and patient satisfaction among individuals undergoing different variations of the Winograd method (WM) for the treatment of ingrown toenail, including the addition of electrocoagulation (EC) and a novel suture technique.

Among 3 000 injuries of the hand in 65 children over 10 years, 95 injuries to tendons were found. About a quarter of these were to the extensor tendon. Results from the lengemann-suture are good. Tearing of the extensor-tendons in the end-phalanx remains a problem. BACKGROUND: Peripheral arterial catheters (PACs), and their associated complications, are common in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Accidental catheter displacement and non-functional PACs are the most common complications, and this may be related to inadequate catheter securement. A series of 44 patients with complete section of the ulnar nerve was reviewed on average 2 years after secondary repair. The procedures applied were fascicular grafting in 33 cases, epineural suture in 7, and suture in 4. Useful ulnar motor function was restored in 22 cases of fascicular grafting, in all 4 of fascicular suture and in 3 of epineural suture. In this paper we report the autopsy findings of a 7 year old girl who presented with headache, nausea and repeated vomiting and died unexpectedly at home. She had no previous history of major illnesses and no history of epileptic seizures. External examination revealed ocular abnormalities. We developed a cost-effective procedure for genuine stress incontinence (GSI) that has the advantages of the tension-free vaginal tape (TVT). The midurethral polypropylene sling procedure (MPS) is carried out under local anaesthesia. Craniosynostosis is described as a condition in which the premature closure of one or more cranial sutures is exposed as a skull deformity alone or accompanied by neurological disturbances. We report the results, over a 20 year period up to 1989, of 201 penetrating keratoplasties in 198 eyes of 158 patients. The five year graft survival was 97%. A corrected visual acuity of 6/12 or better was attained by 91%. The mean spherical equivalent refraction on removal of sutures was -2.68 Ds and the mean cylindrical correction was -5.56 Ds.
