OBJECTIVE: To assess dynamic intraurethral sonography in the diagnostic evaluation of the function of the rhabdosphincter in female patients with urinary stress incontinence in relation to patient age.

Permanent cystostomy catheters were placed in 7 dogs to relieve urine outflow obstruction from presumed transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder trigone and urethra. The catheters were easily managed at home by the owners. Complications were minimal. The most frequent complication was urinary tract infection. PURPOSE: To determine the efficacy of a cystoscopic approach, as definitive treatment of ureteral fistulae, after failure of antegrade ureteral stent insertion.
METHODS: Of 43 ureter fistulae encountered over 4 years, 10 postoperative and/or postradiotherapy fistulae could not be stented via an antegrade approach alone. A cystoscopic approach was used, with the antegrade approach available as back-up, if necessary.

We examined whether the improvement of impaired mobility correlates with the success rate in achievement of catheter-free or diaper-free status of 260 hospitalized elderly patients whose activities in daily life (ADL) were impaired and urinary tract dysfunctions including urinary incontinence were managed by indwelling catheters or diapers. We report on 23 patients with genital gunshot wounds treated since 1977. Of these 23 patients 16 received 1 shot and 7 received multiple shots. The bullet affected the scrotum in 12 patients, the penis in 4, and the penis and scrotum in the remaining 7.
