AIM: To investigate early atherosclerosis (AS) risk factors in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in respect to the presence of lupus nephritis (LN) and antiphospholipid (APL) antibodies.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: We analysed case histories of 137 SLE patients observed in E.M. Tareev clinic from 1970 to 2006. AS manifestations were studied by echocardiography, ultrasonic dopplerography of the peripheral vessels, x-ray methods. AS was considered early if it arose at the age under 55 years. Patients with chronic renal failure were not included in the study.

BACKGROUND: Pelvic osteomyelitis is a bacterial infection of the pelvine skeleton. Apart from rare haematogen diffusion, it can occur after pelvic trauma or operation. Furthermore, it exists a sterile osteitis pubis after repetitive periostial microtrauma. Chronic progressions are possible. Further problems are fistulas and abscesses. The primary aim of this study was to analyse the data on 2269 haemophilic patients in the Polish National Register of Inherited Bleeding Disorders -- 1953 haemophilia A patients and 316 haemophilia B patients. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the added value of co-registered fusion imaging using a hybrid system in patients with lymphoma.
METHODS: Twenty-four lymphoma patients underwent (67)Ga-SPECT/CT using a hybrid tomograph consisting of a dual-head, variable-angle gamma camera and a low-dose X-ray tube. Results were compared with those of SPECT alone.
