Since the efficacy of ART is significantly reduced after chemotherapy, early referral for fertility preservation before gonadotoxic treatment will give these young women the best chance to conceive.

PURPOSE: In-situ preservation of cauda epididymal spermatozoa at -10 degrees C with electrolyte free media for obtaining maximum functional gametes than preservation at 5 degrees C.
METHODS: Electrolyte free media prepared with soybean lecithin-glycerol, Coenzyme Q10 - glycerol and soybean lecithin - Coenzyme Q10- glycerol were inoculated separately into ligated cauda epididymides, equilibrated 2 h at 5 degrees C, wrapped with aluminium foil and freezed at - 10 degrees C. Spermatozoan characters were evaluated 7 and 21 days after thawing at 38.5 degrees C in a water bath for 5 min.

INTRODUCTION: Non-heart beating donors (NHBD) are widely encouraged to avert the critical shortage in the kidney donor pool. The need to assess the health of children born after assisted reproductive technologies (ART) using frozen donor spermatozoa has been a major concern for the last decade. Most available published studies are confusing (since they are retrospective) and refer to small numbers of cases or involve a bias. Two prospective and large population-based studies have been published, one in France and the other in Australia. The general characteristics of children born after ART using frozen spermatozoa was unchanged in comparison with the general population (weight, prematurity, stillbirths, sex ratio).

An African (Kenyan) strain of Babesia bigemina, Muguga (B(2-1)), was inoculated into a calf from a stabilate and blood from the calf was used to establish the parasite in vitro. The objective was to investigate whether cases of fetal trisomy 18 and Turner syndrome with and without hydrops were associated with alterations in the second-trimester levels of maternal serum inhibin A.
