Incubation of highly purified human C1 inhibitor with equally pure human leukocyte proteinase 3, resulted in a dose- and time-dependent inactivation of C1 inhibitor hemolytic activity. In 6 pairs of sibling Beagle dogs, 1 kidney was exchanged between pairs, and contralateral nephrectomy was done.
