In this study, in vitro activity of tigecycline (TIG) and ertapenem (ERT) against clinical isolates of Brucella melitensis and the effect of different media on in vitro test results were investigated. Drug-induced agranulocytosis is believed to be an extremely rare adverse drug reaction. It can be caused by various drugs, but it is mostly described in patients taking antithyroid drugs, antipsychotics and antibiotics. Escherichia coli CF349 exhibited a complex beta-lactam resistance phenotype, including resistance to amoxicillin and ticarcillin alone and in combination with clavulanate and to some extended-spectrum cephalosporins. The synergistic potential of levofloxacin, ofloxacin and ciprofloxacin combined with aztreonam, ceftazidime, or piperacillin was compared using 24 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa with varying susceptibility profiles. Levofloxacin and ciprofloxacin demonstrated similar in vitro activity, with ofloxacin demonstrating less activity compared to the other agents. Predominantly additive effects were seen with all combinations, with no significant differences detected between the fluoroquinolone agents.

The production of beta-lactamases, the outer membrane protein (OMP) patterns, some clinical impacts and the prevalence of resistance among cefuroxime-resistant Danish clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae were investigated.
