In the present paper, we report an improved ion-pair solid-phase extraction (IP-SPE) method for the analysis of alkylphosphonic acids, namely, methyl, ethyl and propylphosphonic acids, present in the aqueous sample. Arid soil microbiomes present untapped resources of microbial diversity. Here, we describe twelve isolates, all belonging to the Methylocaldum genus.
