Physically Constrained Dual-Branch Front-End Optimization for DDH-Oriented Surgical Robot Navigation.

Surgical robot navigation in a restricted pelvic workspace requires accurate target localization, directional consistency and robot-feasible execution. This study proposes a physically constrained dual-branch front-end network (PCD-Net) for DDH-oriented navigation using public CT-derived pelvis geometries. PCD-Net maps a 21-dimensional input comprising the target geometry, current joint state, workspace bounds and constraint parameters to a base-frame target position, principal insertion direction and seven-joint correction vector for MoveIt2 and OMPL planning. Training combines supervised pre

Single Port Robotic Extraperitoneal Distal Ureterectomy and Ureteral Reimplantation via Lower Anterior Approach.

PURPOSE: Single Port (SP) Robotic Extraperitoneal approach enhances maneuverability in the narrow extraperitoneal space while preserving peritoneal integrity (1, 2). First reports show reduced postoperative pain, fewer gastrointestinal complications and shorter hospital stay compared to multiport or open techniques (3-5). Recent experiences with robotic ureteral reconstruction have further supported the feasibility of advanced reconstructive procedures in selected patients (6-8) but literature on SP platform remains limited (9, 10), therefore we present this innovative technique. Effects of cisatracurium and rocuronium on intraoperative neuromonitoring and putuative mechanical trauma in 500 robotic baba thyroidectomies.

BACKGROUND: In thyroid surgery with intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM), guidelines recommend a single intubating dose of neuromuscular blocking agent (NMBA) close to 1 × ED95 to balance intubation conditions and reliable electromyographic (EMG) signals. In robotic bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA) thyroidectomy, however, the absence of haptic feedback raises concerns that persistent muscle relaxation could favor unrecognized mechanical trauma to the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN). METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed consecutive patients undergoing elective robotic BABA thyroidectom

Robotic-assisted ureteric reimplantation versus laparoscopic and open approaches: systematic review and meta-analysis.

Ureteric reimplantation is technically demanding, and comparative outcomes across robotic-assisted, laparoscopic, and open approaches remain uncertain. We performed a PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis of comparative studies identified from PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library (inception to 20 January 2026). Random-effects models pooled risk ratios (RR) and mean differences (MD) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). Indirect laparoscopic-versus-open estimates were derived using robotic-assisted surgery as the common comparator (Bucher method). 14 retrospecti

Standalone Transoral Robotic Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea: A Systematic Literature Review of Clinical Outcomes.

Transoral robotic surgery (TORS) offers a targeted surgical option for addressing base of tongue (BOT) and epiglottic obstruction in selected obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) cases; however, most published evidence evaluates TORS within multilevel approaches, limiting understanding of single-level outcomes. A PRISMA-guided systematic review of PubMed, Embase, and Central Cochrane was conducted from inception to March 2025, aiming to evaluate objective sleep outcomes and patient-reported measures following single-level TORS BOT surgery. Inclusion criteria were adult patients with moderate-to-seve

Robotic-assisted lung transplantation: a systematic review of early outcomes in minimally invasive transplant surgery.

Lung transplantation is conventionally performed through clamshell thoracosternotomy or sternotomy, approaches associated with pain, impaired wound healing, and chronic neuralgia. Robotic assistance has reached transplantation only recently. We systematically reviewed the clinical experience with robotic-assisted lung transplantation. Following PRISMA 2020 and PRISMA-S, we searched MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane CENTRAL from inception to 15 August 2026, with trial registries, conference abstracts, and Chinese-language sources, without language restriction. Robot-assisted laser osteotomy system based on dose-effect model-guided feedforward control.

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a robot-assisted laser osteotomy system that regulates both ablation trajectory and ablation depth through dose-effect model-guided feedforward planning. A Ho:YAG laser delivery and scanning module was integrated with a multi-degree-of-freedom robotic platform, optical navigation, and layered osteotomy planning. Ex vivo porcine femur experiments were performed to establish tissue-specific dose-effect relationship models for cortical and cancellous bone under dynamic scanning conditions. The established models were incorporated into the planning layer to

Robot-assisted modified unilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty for lumbar Kümmell's disease: a randomized controlled trial.

The clinical value of using a spine robot to guide unilateral PVP for lumbar Kümmell's disease has not been fully established. The traditional bilateral pedicle PVP tends to cause suboptimal cement distribution, longer operation time, and increased exposure to radiation. To compare the safety and effectiveness of spine robot-assisted modified unilateral PVP with conventional bilateral pedicle puncture PVP. We performed a single-blind randomized trial including 110 patients with lumbar Kümmell's disease. Patients were assigned in equal numbers to robot-assisted modified unilateral PVP or manual

Transanal excision of rectal lesions using a single port robot: outcomes of initial 81 resections.

Transanal excision of rectal lesions remains challenging due to limitations in visualization and access to the cephalad margin, often resulting in high rates of piecemeal excision and positive margins. Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS), developed using laparoscopic instruments, aimed to improve transanal exposure and reach. We present our experience with single-port robotic TAMIS (SP rTAMIS) to assess its safety and efficacy. A prospectively maintained database of SP robotic colorectal resections performed between October 2018 to September 2024 was retrospectively reviewed to identi

Intersphincteric abdominoperineal excision versus low Hartmann's procedure in the robotic era: a single institution experience.

PURPOSE: Non-restorative surgical options for rectal cancer patients when primary anastomosis is not suitable, Hartmann's procedure (HP) or intersphincteric abdominoperineal excision (IAPE) are common. Previous studies suggest higher pelvic sepsis after HP, but no data exist comparing exclusively robot-assisted approaches. METHODS: This retrospective study included rectal cancer patients with significant comorbidities precluding anastomosis. Those patients underwent robot-assisted HP or IAPE at Odense University Hospital (2012-2022). Demographic, 30-day postoperative medical and surgical comp
