Hematomas following surgery or trauma usually resolve without complications. In some instances, for reasons that are not completely understood, hematoma formation is followed by slow expansion of the mass. The large fluid collection is surrounded by a pseudocapsule and fibrous tissue, and present months or years after the original insult, as chronic expanding hematoma. This study describes the profile of 100 cases of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) at a teaching hospital in 1 Benghazi, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. DKA was more frequent in young women with type 1 diabetes and mostly due to preventable causes, e.g., disrupted insulin treatment and/or infection. DKA also occurred in type 2 diabetics, with a higher mortality rate, as they were older patients with co-morbidity. Those who have already suffered from bone fractures have been found to have lower serum vitamin K (VK) concentrations than age-matched controls. Also in dialysis patients, serum VK(1) concentration are reported to be significantly lower in patients with previous fractures compared to those without. In most studies, there are no significant changes in the serum Ca, P, and intact PTH levels during the VK administration in dialysis patients. Investigation of the changes in metabolic bone markers, such as bone specific alkaline phosphatase (BAP) , during the VK therapy has yielded various results.

OBJECTIVE: To study the operations of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma.
METHOD: Twenty-two patients with nasopharyngeal angiofibroma operated by various operative approaches were studied in this research. All their clinic data were collected and analyzed.
