We report two boys with trichodysplasia spinulosa associated with chemotherapy for acute lymphocytic leukaemia. Trichodysplasia spinulosa is a cutaneous viral infection of immunosuppressed patients that causes abnormal hair follicle maturation. Our patients presented with widespread papules, some extruding a central keratin spicule, which were most prominent on the face. Histopathology demonstrated hair follicles dilated by a proliferation of large eosinophilic cells containing numerous abnormal trichohyaline granules. We report Mycobacterium fortuitum (M. fortuitum) catheter-related sepsis in a five-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). This is the first reported case of M. fortuitum infection seen in our paediatric oncology patients. Cutaneous manifestations in disseminated strongyloidiasis are infrequent but should raise the suspicion for its diagnosis. We retrospectively evaluated the charts of six patients with cancer and a proven diagnosis of disseminated strongyloidiasis. Fungal infections occur in patients who are severely immunocompromised with profound and prolonged neutropenia. We report a patient of acute lymphoblastic leukemia who developed nonspecific abdominal symptoms within two days after the onset of neutropenia in the early induction phase of chemotherapy, which was later found to be due to intestinal mucormycosis and resulted in a fatal outcome.

Two cases of Histoplasma meningitis are presented, illustrating the difficulty in diagnosis and treatment.
