All newly diagnosed patients aged 60-79 years with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) receiving induction chemotherapy with a modified paediatric-based regimen over a 7-year period were retrospectively analysed (n = 51, median age 65 years). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain revealed non-enhancing abnormalities on T2 and FLAIR imaging in the brainstem, cerebellum, and cerebrum. INTRODUCTION: Herpes zoster rarely occurs in healthy children, but may occur frequently and may take a complicated course in children receiving chemotherapy. We aimed to assess morbidity from herpes zoster in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
