Adult survivors of childhood Wilms tumor are at an increased risk of secondary malignant neoplasms. The presence of a solitary kidney further complicates clinical management in this population. Herein, we present the case of a 37 year old female with a history of childhood Wilms tumor presenting with a secondary renal neoplasm. We highlight important clinical considerations for renal function preservation and present a finding of predisposition to kidney stone formation due to urinary stasis from distorted ureter architecture secondary to tumor mass effect.

Osteochondritis dissecans is a common osteochondral abnormality affecting the knee. In unstable lesions, the underlying bone can be significantly abnormal and necessitate treatment. Prenatal diagnosis of neonatal hemochromatosis (NH) is usually raised in front of fetal hepatomegaly and heterogeneous liver architecture. We describe a novel sonographic feature that may be associated with NH. Ultrasound demonstrated reticulonodular liver and distended gallbladder with multiple gallstones in a hydropic fetus. Vulval lichen sclerosus (VLS) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition affecting the anogenital area in women. Serious long-term consequences of VLS include the risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva as well as of scarring and alteration of vulval architecture. The treatment of choice for genital lichen sclerosus in females is potent to very potent topical corticosteroids. There are few published data on the course of VLS in pregnancy. We present our experience of managing 33 pregnancies in 29 women with VLS.

In the title compound, C10H10N2O6·H2O, the carb-oxy-lic acid group and the nitro group are essentially coplanar with the benzene ring [maximum deviation = 0.0264 (9) Å], while the amide group is oriented at a dihedral angle of 9.22 (5)° with respect to the benzene ring. In the crystal, classical O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions link the organic mol-ecules and water mol-ecules of crystallization into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

In this paper, an innovative 3-to-3 bi-directional optical bus architecture based on multimode polymer waveguides with embedded 45° micro-mirrors was successfully demonstrated. With a lithography-free imprinting process by high quality electroplated metallic mold, the device can be precisely replicated with a low fabrication cost. Superior to any point-to-point optical waveguide, the implemented optical bus structure is capable of broadcasting and receiving high speed data at 10 Gbit/sec among multiple points as a high performance optical backplane.

The authors report on 2 patients who sustained naviculocuneiform dislocations and intercuneiform diastasis, and who were treated with immediate arthrodesis of the midfoot complex. Injury patterns in both cases involved damage to the medial facet of the distal navicular articular surface, separation of the first and second cuneiforms, and an unstable first ray. At the 15- and 18-month follow-up, respectively, both patients attained a stable, solid fusion with maintenance of the medial longitudinal architecture. Both patients returned to their preinjury activity levels with no disability.
