BACKGROUND: The potential of psoralen-narrowband ultraviolet B (NBUVB) photochemotherapy has been investigated in vitiligo. The present study aims to evaluate the efficacy of psoralen-NBUVB (P-NBUVB) vs. NBUVB in vitiligo.
METHODS: In a randomized study, 45 Indian patients (age above 13 years) with vitiligo involving more than 5% body surface area were randomly allocated to receive either NBUVB or P-NBUVB treatment. The management of expanding melanonychia in childhood is controversial. Here, we present three cases and discuss their operating indications and reconstruction. Between January 1, 1995 and December 31, 2007, one boy and two girls, were operated for expanding melanonychia, involving the thumb, index finger or the middle finger. They were 2, 4, and 7 years at the time of surgery. Turner syndrome is a genetic disorder characterized by an abnormal or missing X-chromosome. Rarely reported cutaneous manifestations in Turner syndrome include hemangiomas, angiokeratomas, hirsutism, and halo nevi. A recent study demonstrated an increased prevalence of halo nevi in Turner syndrome when compared to vitiligo. We present a case of halo nevi with multiple melanocytic nevi in an 11-year-old patient with Turner syndrome on growth hormone.

BACKGROUND: Epidermoid cysts (EC) can occur anywhere in the body. In the head and neck region, they more often present in the midline between the submental region and the supra sternal notch. EC in the oral cavity are extremely rare and present as benign, slow growing lesions.
