The purpose of this study is to compare the difference in health status between South Koreans and North Koreans and to identify factors responsible for the remarkable improvements in the health status of South Koreans. In order to examine the causes of the difference in health level, the health indices and their determinants of two Koreas were analyzed in time order. BACKGROUND: Quantitative methods for describing the social effects of occupational injury and illness are evaluated including surveys of prevalence and ratings of severity of social role disability.
METHODS: The reliability and validity for the injured worker population of the most commonly used general and condition-specific role disability measures is reviewed and summarized. This review is used to support the development of a prototype strategy for quantifying the social consequences of occupational injuries and to identify areas of need for further research and development.

METHOD: Fifteen young adults treated for the disorder in adolescence, mainly through not only by behavior therapy and family therapy, were followed up between 9 and 14 years later.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the study was to determine the prevalence of personality disorders among a large population of persons seeking treatment in a public psychiatric facility and to examine the role of personality disorders in the clinical conditions of persons frequenting such facilities.
METHODS: Clinical and demographic data were retrospectively examined for 18,179 adults who visited a walk-in clinic of a public psychiatric facility between 1983 and 1989. Patients who received a diagnosis of personality disorder were compared with those who did not.

Ratings were collected on a rating scale comprised of the DSM-III-R diagnostic criteria for disruptive behavior disorders.
