INTRODUCTION: Supracondylar fractures represent the most frequent cause of pediatric elbow injuries, at 64%, in children under eight years old. These fractures can present complications such as: A) Complications prior to treatment: 1) neurological, 2) vascular and 3) compartment syndrome. B) Complications after treatment: 1) early, in the first days after treatment: loss of reduction, neurological, vascular, compartment syndrome, infection of Kirschner wires. 2) Late complications in treatment: Angular deformity, loss of mobility, ossifying myositis, avascular necrosis of the trochlea, others.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the rate and risk factors for osteoradionecrosis (ORN) in osseous free flaps after postoperative radiation therapy (PORT). To describe the treatment of free flap ORN.

The case of 69-year-old man with a post-polio paralytic limb who was diagnosed with carcinoma of the lower alveolus is presented. A successful mandible reconstruction was performed using a vascularized fibula osteocutaneous flap harvested from the polio-affected limb. The skin perfusion and quality of the bone were good. The donor defect healed uneventfully. Harvesting the flap from the polio-affected limb also significantly reduced the donor site morbidity. This case is novel in presenting the successful use of a free fibula flap harvested from a leg affected by paralytic poliomyelitis.

In this case report, a 67-year-old woman presented with increasing pain in the left side of the thigh and pelvis. A PET scan revealed a large malignant tumour in the left side of the pelvis and proximal left femur, and an ultrasound-guided biopsy diagnosed an undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma. BACKGROUND: Early closure of the meningocele, meningomyelocele, is essential to prevent complications such as hypothermia, infection in the postnatal period. But for some reasons, it is not always possible to repair early. The possibility of malign transformation should be considered in long-term due to nonhealing ulcers and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) fistula and frequent infections in an adult patient with meningomyelocele. The possibility of conversion to malignancy in the control of an untreated meningomyelocele patient with (CSF) drainage should be especially kept in mind.

PURPOSE: Mild and moderate velopharyngeal insufficiency is a relatively common structural defect of the velopharyngeal sphincter that occurs congenitally or secondarily to various medical conditions resulting in speech inadequacy. Currently, multiple surgical methods exist to treat mild and moderate velopharyngeal insufficiency; however, the revision rates are high and the outcomes are variable.
