PURPOSE: To report the 3-month results of our first cases of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) with Alcon's CustomCornea.
METHODS: Wavefront analysis was performed using the LADARWave aberrometer and ablation was performed with the LADARVision4000 system. Thirty-one eyes of 17 patients were analyzed prospectively, at 1 and 3 months after CustomCornea surgery. Psychophysical tests were performed, including high and low contrast acuity, and contrast sensitivity under scotopic and photopic conditions. In addition, psychometric testing was performed using a subjective vision questionnaire.

Plagiocephaly, which is caused by premature closure of one of the coronal sutures, leads to fronto-orbital asymmetry. The aim of this work was to study the repercussions of orbital deformation on the visual system. BACKGROUND: The dislocation of the crystalline lens is a common finding in patients with Marfan syndrome (MFS). Scleral intraocular lens (IOL) fixation is an accepted treatment method of this complication. To now, no long-term data on scleral IOL fixation in MFS exist.
METHODS: We present a retrospective study of 27 eyes of 17 MFS patients that underwent scleral lens fixation at our clinic between 1999 and 2012. These patients are compared to an age- and surgeon-matched group of 31 eyes of 27 patients who underwent the same procedure for reasons other than MFS.

PURPOSE: To investigate the aberration compensation between anterior and posterior corneal surfaces after SMILE and FS-LASIK.
METHODS: Fifty-five subjects (55 eyes) undergoing SMILE and 51 subjects (51 eyes) undergoing FS-LASIK were enrolled in this study. Wavefront aberrations of anterior and posterior corneal surfaces and the whole cornea at 6 mm in diameter were measured using a Scheimpflug Camera preoperatively and one, three and 6 months postoperatively. The compensation factor (CF), where CF = 1 - (aberration of the whole cornea/aberration of anterior corneal surface), was calculated.

PURPOSE: To investigate the characteristics of forward light scatter changes after small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) and to compare these changes with those after femtosecond laser-assisted LASIK (femto-LASIK) and epipolis LASIK (epi-LASIK).
