Avacopan, a complement inhibitor targeting C5a receptor, is a novel and effective agent in the treatment of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) in adults. In recent trials for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), belimumab (BLM), in addition to standard immunosuppression, has been shown to improve renal and nonrenal outcomes.
