In this study, we investigated a 42-year-old man working in a refractory brick (RB) production line who had allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) due to skin exposure to chromium (Cr). He had visited a dermatologist several times over a five-month period and although he had been medically treated, the symptoms reappeared after he returned to work and resumed exposure. Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors represent a promising class of small molecule inhibitors that treat a range of inflammatory skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis (AD), psoriasis, and alopecia areata. Although the evidence for their use in allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) remains limited, early results from animal studies and case reports are promising. Herein, we provide an overview of JAK inhibitors and the evidence for their use in ACD.

A 23-year-old woman followed for adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) presented fever and chest pain. Clinical examination showed erythematous papules suggestive of flagellate dermatitis. Laboratory findings showed increased Cardiac troponin. Myocarditis due to AOSD was therefore suspected. The patient was treated with prednisone and methotrexate with significant clinical improvement.
