A 61-year-old man was admitted to our hospital for examination of the cause of rapid growth of a liver cyst. We found a slight dilatation of bile duct in the vicinity of the liver cyst. Then, we underwent ERCP and found a communication between the bile duct and liver cyst. Bile cytodiagnosis revealed a large quantity of clonorchis eggs. The patient like to do eat raw freshwater fish and we suspected that the acute expansion of the cyst was due to clonorchiasis. Toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome (TENS) is a severe but rare skin reaction leading to epidermal desquamation of greater than 30% of the TBSA. It is most commonly precipitated by the administration of medication. Frequent complications of this syndrome include local wound infections, respiratory, mucocutaneous, and ocular complications. Ecthyma gangrenosum (EG) is a rare disease characterized by a milliary seeding of the cutaneous tissue with Gram-negative bacteria; it is most commonly seen in immunocompromised individuals. We aimed to study the clinical pattern of nocardiosis in a tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia using a retrospective review of cases from 1987 to 2003. A total of 19 patients were identified as having culture-proven nocardial infection. The most common underlying condition was renal transplantation in 8 patients (42%). Inhaled nitric oxide (NO) was administered to 5 consecutive children with life-threatening status asthmaticus who required mechanical ventilation and did not respond to maximal medical management.
