Blepharochalasis is a redundancy of the eyelid skin. It may be associated with herniation of orbital fat, and the eyelids may have a baggy appearance. They may become heavy and reduce the visual field. Blepharoplasty, in which the excess skin and fat are removed, can not only improve appearance but can also improve ocular function.
