Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common cause of cancer mortality and morbidity worldwide. Radiation therapy is an underutilized therapy in HCC. A case of a 47-year-old man with locally advanced, chemorefractory HCC with malignant extension into the inferior vena cava and the right atrium, causing cardiac outflow obstruction, which was successfully treated with external beam radiation therapy, is presented. Low-dose radiation therapy is an effective palliative therapy for HCC that is widely available in most developing countries, where HCC is endemic.

Epidermolysis bullosa simplex (EBS) is a heritable skin disorder characterized by skin fragility and blistering. While its most severe variant, dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is associated with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), the development of extracutaneous neoplasms in EBS is extremely rare. We report a novel case of supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumor (sPNET) in a 7-year male with EBS. Experience of radiation therapy and its challenges in children with EBS has rarely been reported.

A 43-year-old man with locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the base of tongue was treated with induction chemotherapy followed by intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Within 20 days post-treatment, the patient developed clinical symptoms highly suggestive of hyperthyroidism. This report presents a 70-year-old male who presented with a rare malignant fibrous histiocytosis after high-dose proton radiation therapy for anaplastic astrocytoma. To our knowledge, malignant fibrous histiocytosis caused by proton therapy has not been reported, therefore the clinical features of this complication are described and previous cases are reviewed.
