OBJECTIVE: To report the performance of plastic surgery in the treatment of complex wounds in a tertiary hospital, analyzing its characteristics, types of injuries and approaches adopted, with emphasis on surgical treatment.
METHODS: We conducted a etrospective analysis of patients with complex wounds treated by plastic surgery in a tertiary hospital in a period of five years (2006 to 2010). Data collection was obtained from visits made, serial assessments and records of the medical charts.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Recently two retrospective cohort studies report efficacy of bevacizumab in patients with recurrent atypical and anaplastic meningioma. Another successful therapeutic option of bevacizumab seems to be treatment of cerebral radiation necrosis. However, the antiangiogenic effects in MRI diffusion and perfusion in meningiomas have not been previously described in detail. Trabectedin therapy was prescribed for a patient with radiation-induced sarcoma. Two doses of trabectedin were given before therapy was discontinued with the patient experiencing renal and liver failure. BACKGROUND: Clavicle fractures in children are typically managed nonsurgically due to immense bony remodeling potential. Therefore, repeat radiographs may not be necessary. This study aims to quantify repeat radiographs for pediatric nonsurgical clavicle fractures.

Chronic genital wounds following oncological surgery and radiation are uncommon and challenging to reconstruct because of scarred, poorly vascularized tissues and proximity to the urethra and testes. We report a 73-year-old man with a 2-year nonhealing wound at the base of the penis and right hemiscrotum after orchiectomy and adjuvant therapy.
