Previous studies have disclosed that a substantial percentage of infants from mothers with thyroid autoimmunity have antibodies to thyroid peroxidase (TPOAb) at birth. Nephrotic syndrome has been rarely reported after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. We report a patient who developed nephrotic syndrome after allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation for acute myelogenous leukemia. Renal biopsy was performed and immunofluorescence and light microscopy were compatible with minimal change disease. The patient was treated with cyclophosphamide and prednisolone. Complete remission was achieved after three months. Previous reported cases are discussed.

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to demonstrate circadian blood pressure trends and to evaluate autonomic function in patients with spinocerebellar degeneration (SCD).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We performed 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) on 10 patients from seven Japanese families with spinocerebellar ataxia type 6 (SCA6), 10 patients with idiopathic cerebellar ataxia (ICA), eight patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA) suffering from cerebellar MSA (MSA-C), and 12 age- and gender-matched normal subjects.
