This work consists in an evaluation of the occurrence of nickel contact dermatitis, its distribution between sexes and in which parts of the body the dermatitis usually occurs. It was accomplished a two year (1994-1995) retrospective study of 404 patch-tested patients which had previous clinical diagnosis of contact dermatitis. The occurrence of nickel sensitization was 19.8%, 88.8% of these 19.8% were women and the rest, 11.2%, were men. The lesions were present predominantly on hands, forearms, earlobes and feet. We report a case of compartment syndrome complicating malignant hyperthermia (MH) in a 12-yr-old girl with a history of myopathy and multiple skeletal deformities; she underwent bilateral Achilles tendon surgery. A serious complication following the insertion of an a-v shunt for dialysis in a 41-year-old man is reported. The posterior interosseous flap is a new fasciocutaneous flap designed on the postero-lateral aspect of the forearm. The anatomical study was carried on seventy dissections of fresh specimens. Sixty-nine patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on maintenance hemodialysis were evaluated by topical application of 2,4 dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB). The initial sensitization dose consisted of 2,000 micrograms of DNCB; challenge doses consisted of 50 and 100 micrograms. Applications to the contralateral forearm in the absence of a spontaneous flare. Only 71% of the ESRD patients tested could be sensitized to DNCB, compared to 100% of normal controls. Venous involvement in 31 patients with lepromatous leprosy has been studied in biopsies from clinically involved and clinically normal subcutaneous veins from the forearm. Twenty-nine of these showed histological evidence of leprous phlebitis. The earliest lesion was intimal cell hyperplasia with the presence of acid-fast bacilli in small groups in the intimal cells. A case of ulnar dimelia with radial aplasia and polydactyly and the main features of its treatment are described. I believe that this abnormality results from impairment of the mechanisms responsible for organization and differentiation of the limb bud in the anteroposterior direction. BACKGROUND: The described technique is useful for achieving closed reduction of severely displaced (i.e., Judet Type-III and IV) pediatric radial neck fractures. It is widely agreed that radial neck fractures with angulation of >30° should be reduced. Various maneuvers have been described, but none uniformly achieves complete reduction in severely displaced radial neck fractures (Types III and IV)1-4. The aim of the present technique is to achieve closed reduction in these severely displaced radial neck fractures without surgical instrumentation.

Human dirofilariasis is a rare arthropod-borne zoonotic infection caused by a filarial nematode of the genus Dirofilaria . It typically manifests in humans as pulmonary, ocular, or subcutaneous lesions. In India, the disease is predominantly seen in the southern states, especially Kerala. Cases documented from India are mostly of ocular infection, and very few cases of subcutaneous dirofilariasis (SD) are reported.
