Who benefits the most from cognitive behavior therapy for health anxiety? Secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial of internet-delivered vs. face-to-face treatment in primary care.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate who benefits most from exposure-focused cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for pathological health anxiety. METHODS: This was a secondary study based on a randomized controlled trial of Internet-delivered versus face-to-face CBT (N = 204) delivered in primary care for participants with pathological health anxiety and a primary diagnosis of either somatic symptom disorder or illness anxiety disorder. Linear mixed effects regression models were fitted on 13 weekly 18-item Health Anxiety Inventory assessments over the treatment phase. The time×variable coefficient was tested

A multicomponent behavior change intervention to promote walking in adults after traumatic brain injury: A Pilot Randomized Control Trial.

BACKGROUND: Sedentary behavior is highly prevalent following traumatic brain injury (TBI) and compounds existing risks for cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and affective disorders. The cognitive and behavioral sequelae of TBI, including impaired decision-making, blunted reward processing, and cognitive fatigue, create particular barriers to adopting and maintaining an active lifestyle. Effective behavior change interventions targeting physical activity in community-dwelling TBI survivors remain scarce. Here, we evaluated the feasibility, compliance, and preliminary efficacy of a 12-week remo

The experiences of using polio outbreak simulation exercises to strengthen national outbreaks preparedness and response plans in sub-Saharan Africa.

INTRODUCTION: globally, by 2020 the paralytic poliomyelitis disease burden decreased to over 99% of the reported cases in 1988 when resolution 41.8 was endorsed by the World Health Assembly (WHA) for global polio eradication. It is clearly understood that, if there is Wild Poliovirus (WPV) and circulating Vaccines Derived Poliovirus (cVDPV) in the world, no country is safe from polio outbreaks. All countries remain at high risk of re-importation depending on the level of the containment of the types vaccine withdrawn, the laboratory poliovirus isolates, and the population immunity induced by t

Appropriateness of elective caesarean deliveries in a perinatal network: a cross-sectional study.

BACKGROUND: The overall caesarean rate in France has increased from 14.3% in 1994-1996 to 21.0% in 2010. This increased rate is a concern in all developed countries: delivery by caesarean induces both short- and long-term maternal complications, and its use requires careful reflection. The principal objective of this work was to describe the global appropriateness of indications for caesareans among a selected sample of planned caesareans performed within the Auvergne perinatal health network. The secondary objectives were to describe the inappropriate planned caesarean risk according to the m

One Health in Mongolia.

The Asia Pacific Strategy for Emerging Diseases (APSED) requires collaboration, consensus, and partnership across all the different actors and sectors involved in different aspects of emerging disease. Guided by APSED, Mongolia has established a functional coordination mechanism between the animal and human health sectors. Surveillance, information exchange and risk assessment, risk reduction, and coordinated response capacity and collaborative research have been identified as the four pillars of the zoonoses framework. Intersectoral collaboration has been clearly shown to be a crucial tool in

Psychosocial predictors of Hepatitis B testing intentions among non -pregnant women of reproductive age in rural Ghana: a Theory of Planned Behaviour approach.

INTRODUCTION: The Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection is a crucial strategy for achieving global HBV elimination by 2030. As HBV testing forms the foundation of effective PMTCT programs, empowering women of reproductive age to accept HBV testing and screening services is essential. This study applied the Theory of Planned Behaviour to investigate the impact of psychosocial factors, including attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, and risk perception, on HBV testing intentions among women of reproductive age. METHODS: A hos

The Intersection Between Women's Reproductive Desires and HIV Care Providers' Reproductive Health Practices: A Mixed Methods Analysis.

Background HIV-positive women in the United States can have healthy pregnancies and avoid transmitting HIV to their children. Yet, little is known about the extent to which HIV care providers' reproductive health practices match women's pregnancy desires. Accordingly, we explored young HIV-positive women's pregnancy desires and reproductive health behaviors and examined reproductive health information offered by HIV care clinics. Methods A mixed-method analysis was conducted using data from a 14-site Adolescent Medicine Trials Network (ATN) study. We conducted descriptive statistics on data fr
