BACKGROUND: Spinal hardware has been adapted for fixation in the setting of anterior pelvic injury. This anterior subcutaneous pelvic fixator consists of pedicle screws placed in the supraacetabular region connected by a contoured connecting rod placed subcutaneously and above the abdominal muscle fascia.

BACKGROUND: Polycystic liver disease (PLD) is a rare disorder frequently associated with polycystic kidney disease (PKD). Transplantation is a treatment option for these patients. Because of preservation of hepatic function in these patients, liver transplantation is not routinely utilized. The injury of the urinary tract in a pelvic surgery is inherent, its real frequency in which it presents, is difficult to establish, due that not all the lesions are published. In this article, two cases of ureteral obstruction posterior to a Burch-procedure, and the way they were resolved is reported. The ureteral obstruction is a very rare complication, but one that has the worst and severe medico-legal consequences, if they are not resolved opportunely. Its frequency in our service was of 0.41%, in 240 Burch-procedures that were realized during April of 1997 and June of 2000.

INTRODUCTION: The laparoscopic Davydov is described. The data concerning the surgery and the postoperative course are reported at the same time as the data concerning the anatomical and sexological results.

Little has been published about the difficulties encountered during the insertion of osseointegrated implants for the attachment of bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA) and auricular prostheses in children.
