Our studies have shown that, contrary to the opinion in most textbooks, it is possible to increase the number of malformed fetuses in one of our mouse strains (originally "Heiligenberger Stamm", meanwhile HLG/Zte) by radiation exposure of zygotes or of subsequent preimplantation stages. Fifty-four (4%) of 1284 patients treated for adenocarcinoma of the colon and rectum during a 10-year period ending in 1989 underwent potentially curative resection of right colon lesions found during surgery to be adherent to adjacent organs, abdominal wall, or retroperitoneum. Seventeen patients with either current (n = 14) or previous (n = 3) pelvic malignant disease underwent continent urinary diversion using the Mitrofanoff principle in 16 and a Kock pouch in 1. Silicone casting of abdominal wall defects around enteric fistulas in six patients and problem stomas in three patients proved to be an effective means of controlling the output of the fistulas, reducing wound care time, and reducing or eliminating parenteral nutrition needs. Dedifferentiation is a very rare phenomenon in uterine leiomyosarcoma (LMS). The aim of this study was to comprehensively analyze the clinicopathological characteristics of uterine dedifferentiated LMS (DDLMS). We reviewed electronic medical records and pathology slides from five patients with uterine DDLMS and performed immunostaining. The mean age of the patients was 56 years. In 2013 there were 94,770 new cancer patients reported in Hungary. Synovial sarcoma accounts for 0.05-0.1% of all cancers and, therefore its incidence is predicted to be 47-94 patients/year in Hungary.
