PURPOSE: We report a case of corneal warpage secondary to hydrogel lens wear that was initially mistaken as a case of keratoconus.
METHODS: A 26-year-old Chinese female hydrogel lens wearer presented with an interest in refractive surgery. After topographies and pachymetries were performed, keratoconus was initially diagnosed for her right eye and suspect keratoconus diagnosed for her left eye. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of resection and cryotherapy combined with amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) for the treatment of vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) with giant papillae (GP). METHODS: Seventeen eyes of 17 patients with preoperative visual acuity of <6/60 in the affected eye underwent sector iridectomy in a prospective clinical study at a tertiary eye care center.
