Subtalar arthroereisis is a technique for treating symptomatic flexible flatfeet by means of inserting an implant or stent into the sinus tarsi. The goals are to reduce pain, deformity and instability of the foot. OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical effects of two different circumcision procedures with the Shang Ring and compare their advantages and disadvantages.
METHODS: A total of 527 adult males with phimosis or redundant prepuce underwent Shang Ring circumcision by conventional outward replacement (n = 254) and inward placement (n = 273), respectively. We observed the in-ring nocturnal pain, complications, ring-removal pain, degree of edema, recovery time, and patients' satisfaction after surgery, and compared them between the two groups.

We describe a surgical technique and report outcomes for fibrin glue interposition after resection of a tarsal condition. An institutional review board--approved retrospective review of all pediatric patients with a tarsal coalition managed with resection was conducted between January 2002 and July 2010 by a single surgeon. The surgical principles for the treatment of flail chest have yet to be fully established. Furthermore, the relationship between flail chest and lung hernias is unclear. We report here a rare case of chondrosternal traumatic disruption and lung hernia that was treated with a novel technique using titanium rib bridges and clips, which successfully reduced the hernia defect and provided stability to the chest wall. This procedure was beneficial in minimising the patient's ventilation time and time away from work.

We report a case demonstrating a rare finding associated with a relatively common injury. Lipomata are rarely found within tendon sheaths; but in the case of our patient, at the time of operative repair for a ruptured Achilles tendon, we found a fatty growth within the tendon sheath. The diagnosis of a lipoma was confirmed by histology. Although uncommon, it remains important to be aware of the existence of neoplastic growths within tendon sheaths and to establish the exact nature of these growths by histological analysis.

INTRODUCTION: Since 2001 we minimized access (2.9-4.7 cm) for universally applicable endoscopic hybrid carinatum technique with two transsternal Willital bars in 173 endoscopic hybrid (EH) patients with very satisfactory results. In 2008-2009, endoscopic Nuss bar compression with endoscopic repair of costal flaring applied a new eight-hole stabilizer, which allows the use in pectus carinatum (PC) beyond adolescence including redos and combined deformities. This prospective study of 35 "endoscopic Berlin-Buch reversed Nuss" repairs intends to establish indications for this improved technique.
