The aim was to summarize present knowledge on molecular components of Yersinia enterocolitica involved in (i) adhesion, with special reference to plasmid encoded factors and (ii) induction of antibodies in the host, and the quantitation of these two phenomena. The paper addresses the issue of whether a paediatric speech therapy service can offer an adequately sensitive service to a specific community, notably the Chasidic Jewish community of north London. Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography (TCD) is now commonly used to evaluate the cerebral hemodynamics. However, the blood velocity measured with TCD is not always accurate, because as a rule the direction of the blood flow does not completely coincide with that of the ultrasonic beam. The error in the measurement could be as large as 15%. This could be eliminated by calculating pulsatility index (PI) from the Doppler ultrasonography. Correlations between craniomandibular disorders (CMD) symptoms and an inherited factor (general joint hypermobility) were studied in 193 adolescents (96 girls and 97 boys). They answered a questionnaire concerning CMD symptoms, oral parafunctions, head and jaw trauma and symptoms from other joints. Joint mobility was assessed by determining the Beighton score (0-9). Schwannoma, a benign tumor of peripheral nerve sheath, infrequently contains melanin and even less frequently features psammoma bodies. An epidemiological survey was conducted to assess the prevalence as well as clinical features of neurosis among 3,809 aged people in an urban residential area of Beijing with 50,639 population.
