Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome is characterized by Mullerian duct structures agenesis. Anorectal malformations are uncommonly associated with MRKH syndrome, and among them, rectovestibular fistula and cloacal malformations have been commonly described. H-type of anovestibular fistula associated with MRKH syndrome has not been reported previously. One such case along with its treatment is reported.

The diagnostic feature of esophageal atresia (EA) is the inability to pass a catheter into the stomach. EA can be ruled out if the feeding tube can be passed into the stomach. In EA, when a tracheo-esophageal fistula (TEF) is present, theoretically the feeding tube can find its way into the stomach via tracheal route and through the TEF. We report such a rare occurrence. In this situation, the diagnosis and further management of EA and TEF was delayed.

A five-year-old girl presented with post traumatic urinary incontinence secondary to rupture of the bladder neck into the vagina. Operative repair included a midline exposure with resection of the symphysis pubis, separation of the bladder neck from the vagina, repair of the torn bladder neck and urethral substitution with ileum. PURPOSE: We reviewed cases of genitourinary fistula resulting from birth trauma in Sierra Leone to determine factors predictive of successful operative repair.

CASE: A 25-year-old female sought medical advice regarding cyclical hematuria, dyspareunia, and infertility of four years' duration. Retained gauze swabs in the neck have seldom been reported. We present the case of a 27-years-old man who suffered a persistent discharging sinus for 8 years following excision of a right submandibular gland. Computed tomography fistulography was done showing a Blind track ending into a cavity just beneath the floor of mouth. Neck exploration eventually revealed 2 gauze swabs that were tightly packed in the area of submandibular duct. This article further emphasizes the importance of sound operative room practice to avoid this serious problem.

A hemodialysis patient was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism, shortly after successful thrombectomy of an autogenous arteriovenous fistula. Diagnostic testing revealed no alternative source for thromboembolism. Prostatorectal fistula is a complication following radiotherapy. It remains a clinical challenge to treat because most patients experience a poor quality of life. This case report discusses a modified suprapubic catheter for use in a patient with a prostatorectal fistula that developed after radiotherapy for localized prostate cancer. It is an inexpensive, easily available, and more patient-tolerable catheter that improves quality of life. Herein, we describe the development of this catheter.
