Monsel's solution applied to biopsy sites causes tissue necrosis that can persist for two weeks and impede reepithelialization. Granulation tissue in the healing phase contains iron pigment residue from the agent. The pigment encrusts upon collagen and is present in siderophages for up to three months. Occasionally pigment or necrotic residues incite a foreign body giant cell reaction. Awareness is recommended in order to avoid confusion. The agent's potential effect upon the basic disease is discussed.

Polymyalgia rheumatica is a disease of the elderly, more common in women. Pain and stiffness localized in the proximal extremities respond well to low-dose corticosteroids. In roughly half of the cases, giant cell arteritis can be detected in apparently normal temporal arteries. There is no danger of ocular involvement in "pure" polymyalgia rheumatica, even with a positive biopsy. When cranial symptoms, such as headache or tenderness of the temporal arteries, appear, there is a great danger of ocular involvement, and high-dose corticosteroid treatment is advisable.

We demonstrate a case of the a 71-years-old female patient suffering from recent diabetes mellitus, generalized atherosclerosis and hypertension who died due to pulmonary embolism and terminal bronchopneumonia. We report a case of spleen abscess cased by foreign body (gossypiboma) after 40 years. After physical examination, laboratory, ultrasonography and CT findings with diagnosis of acute abdomen, 73 years old woman had undergone laparatomy. Operation revealed intraabdominal spleen abscess.
