Engineering dosimetric excellence in total body irradiation: Tomotherapy-driven protocols for precision and reproducibility.

PROBLEM: The clinical feasibility, dosimetric reproducibility, and in vivo accuracy of a tomotherapy-based total-body irradiation (TBI) protocol in a large cohort of patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is evaluated. METHODS: Patients (128 patients with hematological malignancies undergoing TBI with helical tomotherapy) were simulated in dual orientations (head-first and feet-first supine) to accommodate extended anatomical lengths. Plans were generated as separate upper and lower components with structured gradient overlap zones and then composited for delivery.

Potential Vitamin B6 Depletion During Carbidopa/Levodopa Therapy in Parkinson's Disease: A Scoping Review of Direct Evidence.

Vitamin B6 depletion during carbidopa/levodopa therapy has been linked to polyneuropathy, seizures, and anemia, but the direct evidence is heterogeneous, and causality remains uncertain. We conducted a focused scoping review of direct empirical evidence on vitamin B6 biology during carbidopa/levodopa exposure and on vitamin B6-related clinical consequences supported by biochemical assessment. We also included studies of biomarker-guided monitoring, supplementation, and direct carbidopa-vitamin B6 chemistry. PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched without date or language limits on Jul

Association of clinical laboratory parameters with latent tuberculosis infection among healthcare workers of primary health centers-A cross-sectional observational study.

Healthcare workers (HCWs) are at high risk of tuberculosis (TB) infection due to their continued occupational exposure to patients with active TB disease. The prevalence of latent TB infections (LTBI) among the HCWs of primary healthcare centers (PHCs) has seldom been investigated. PHCs provide effective and preventive medical care largely for the rural population. Comparatively, the HCWs of PHCs are likely to have an increased risk of occupational exposure and reactivation of LTBI. A cross-sectional study (March-April 2024) was carried out to assess the prevalence of LTBI among the HCWs of 64

Genetic Diversity in KMT2A -r and KMT2A -Wt Groups: Assessing the Prognostic Value of Markers in BCP-ALL Among Infants.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Infant BCP-ALL is classified into KMT2A-r and KMT2A-wt groups, both showing heterogeneity. KMT2A rearrangements indicate poor prognosis, but outcomes vary by fusion partner. The KMT2A-wt group includes cases in the B-other ALL subgroup, with unclear prognostic significance. We aim to improve understanding of molecular subtypes in KMT2A-r and KMT2A-wt, focusing on NUTM1 and PAX5 rearrangements. METHODS: We analyzed 175 infants (aged 0-365 days) diagnosed with BCP-ALL from 2010 to 2023 at the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncolo
