Analysis of sleep patterns among clinical nurses: a latent profile and association rule mining approach.

BACKGROUND: Traditional approaches to assessing sleep quality in clinical nurses often overlook population heterogeneity and the complex interplay of influencing factors. This study employs Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) and Association Rule Mining (ARM) to identify distinct sleep quality subgroups and uncover key factor combinations, thereby informing targeted intervention strategies. METHODS: A total of 1,686 nurses from 123 hospitals in Shandong Province were recruited through multistage stratified sampling. LPA was used to classify participants based on seven sleep dimensions from the Pitts

Forelimb feathering, soft tissues, and skeleton of the flying dromaeosaurid Microraptor.

BACKGROUND: Microraptor is an essential animal for understanding the evolution of flight in birds and their closest relatives. Recent studies have uncovered evidence of its powered flight potential and details of its diet and ecology. However, we are still missing a thorough description of the anatomy of Microraptor connecting feathers, soft tissues, and osteology together. Here we focus on the forelimbs of ten new Microraptor specimens from the Shandong Tianyu Museum of Nature studied under Laser-Stimulated Fluorescence. We compared our results with extensively studied existing specimens (e.g

Clinical efficacy of titanium prepared platelet rich fibrin in periodontal regeneration: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Periodontal regeneration therapies frequently involve autologous platelet concentrates (APCs). They can be used in sinus lift surgeries and socket preservation, among other clinical settings. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) membrane has been used to treat gingival recession in individuals or groups of individuals using a coronally progressed or lateral pedicle flap. In the treatment of mixed periodontic endodontic lesion/furcation defect, PRF functions as a healing and interpositional biomaterial, filling a cystic cavity. PRF is known to help the bone regeneration process. In the last f

Changes in Use of Hepatitis C Direct-Acting Antivirals After Access Restrictions Were Eased by State Medicaid Programs.

IMPORTANCE: Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) are safe and highly effective for curing hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, but their high cost led certain state Medicaid programs to impose coverage restrictions. Since 2015, many of these restrictions have been lifted voluntarily in response to advocacy or because of litigation. OBJECTIVE: To estimate how the prescribing of DAAs to Medicaid patients changed after states eased access restrictions. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS: This modified difference-in-differences analysis of 39 state Medicaid programs included Medicaid beneficiaries who w

Design and validation of a flowless gradient generating microfluidic device for high-throughput drug testing.

Drug testing is a vital step in the identification of the potential efficacy of any new/existing drug and/or combinations of drugs. The conventional methods of testing the efficacy of new drugs using multiwell plates are time consuming and prone to evaporation loss and manual error. Microfluidic devices with automated generation of concentration gradients provide a promising alternative. The implementation of such microfluidic devices is still limited owing to the additional expertise and facilities required to fabricate and run these devices. Conventional microfluidic devices also need pumps,

Upper extremity prosthetic selection influences loading of transhumeral osseointegrated systems.

Percutaneous osseointegrated (OI) implants are increasingly viable as an alternative to socket suspension of prosthetic limbs. Upper extremity prostheses have also become more complex to better replicate hand and arm function and attempt to recreate pre-amputation functional levels. With more functionality comes heavier devices that put more stress on the bone-implant interface, which could be an issue for implant stability. This study quantified transhumeral loading at defined amputation levels using four simulated prosthetic limb-types: (1) body powered hook, (2) myoelectric hook, (3) myoele
