The aim of this study was to determine the prognostic factors of spleen metastases in ovarian cancer. A retrospective chart review was conducted and ten patients with spleen metastases were evaluated. Eight were Stage III, one Stage I and one Stage IV. One patient had a spleen metastasis at the time of ovarian cancer diagnosis, whereas, the remaining patients 23.4+12 months after ovarian cancer diagnosis. We present a case featuring a unique overlap between the body areas involved by lung adenocarcinoma and the cutaneous paraneoplastic sign of Leser-Trélat. In our patient, the Leser-Trélat sign consisted of explosive multiple seborrheic keratoses in combination with acanthosis nigricans, representing a remarkable geometric skin projection of lung cancer which involved both the upper lobes. INTRODUCTION: The lung cancers are among the five most frequent cancers (and incidence continues to increase in men and females), with the highest percentage of mortality and an obvious stagnation of surviving rates, in spite of therapeutic improvements.
STATE OF ART: The lung cancers constitute a more mixed group than expected, with unpredictable behaviours and sensitivities to treatments. The detection of early small lesions allowing a drastic surgery and an adjuvant chemotherapy improve the prognostic, if we can differentiate precisely and effectively the resectable tumors from the others.

Despite its low incidence, vulvar melanoma carries a poor prognosis and shows a high tendency to metastasize because the diagnosis is often delayed. Although it is very well known that ultraviolet radiation is an important aetiological factor for cutaneous melanomas in adults, this cannot be considered true for vulvar melanoma. Chronic inflammatory disease, viral infections, irritant agents are the main factors suspected to induce mucosal melanoma. We report 10 cases of vulvar malignant melanoma observed in our institute from 1990 to 2005 and a review of the literature.

Malignant nodular hidradenomas are rare variants of sweat gland carcinomas characterized by aggressive clinical behaviour. We report a case of 42-year-old female with 3 x 2 x 1 cm nodule on her foot followed by cutaneous and regional lymph node metastasis. Flow cytometry showed S-phase fraction of 72.6% and 15.8% of aneuploid cells corroborating with its aggressive nature.

AIM: To determine the prognostic significance of isolated tumor cells (ITCs) and lymph node micrometastases in gastric cancer.
METHODS: Hematoxylin and eosin-stained slides of lymph node dissections of 632 consecutive gastric cancers were reviewed. Cytokeratin immunostaining was performed in 280 node-negative cases and 5 cases indefinite for lymph node metastases. Lymph node metastases were divided into ITCs, micrometastases, or macrometastases, according to the sizes of tumor deposits in largest dimension. ITCs were further classified into four groups according to metastasis pattern.
