Myxoma is a rare mesenchymal tumor and it is mainly seen in heart and skin. Renal myxoma is extremely rare. To date, eleven cases of kidney myxomas have been reported in the literature. OBJECTIVES: Large rectoceles (>2 cm) are believed to be associated with difficulty in evacuation, constipation, rectal pain, and rectal bleeding. The aim of our study was to determine whether rectocele size is related to patient's symptoms or defecatory parameters.
METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study on data collected on patients referred to our clinic for the evaluation of evacuation disorders. All patients were questioned for constipation, fecal incontinence, and irritable bowel syndrome and were assessed with dynamic perineal ultrasonography and conventional anorectal manometry.

The management of multicystic dysplastic kidney (MCDK) is controversial. There has been a shift from routine surgical removal to nonoperative management. The authors present a case of a 51-year-old woman with endometriosis who developed immune thrombocytopenic purpura. Her platelets dropped to 2×10(9)/l, and she had haemorrhage into her right endometrioma causing a large pelvic haematoma. She also had renal failure secondary to endometriosis compressing the right ureter. She was treated with immunoglobulin and steroids with subsequent recovery of platelet count and underwent ureteric stenting to prevent worsening renal function.

BACKGROUND: A 56-year-old male with bilateral flank pain was admitted following diagnosis of bilateral kidney stone disease. He had previously undergone four separate pyelolithotomy sessions (two per kidney), the latest being 14 years prior. An unusual case of pelvic echinococcus cyst is presented, appearing initially on transvaginal ultrasound as a pelvic mass mimicking a multicystic ovary. A similar mass in the liver raised preoperatively the suspicion of echinococcosis, making an open surgical procedure preferable to laparoscopy. Diagnosis was confirmed pathologically after removal of the cyst. In order to study the angiogenesis in endometriosis, the samples of eutopic and ectopic endometria from patients with endometriosis were quantitatively analyzed by color morphometric image system (CMIS) for vascular surface area, and by examining endometrial blood vessel for microvessel density (MVD).
