Hemangiomas are benign tumors most frequently seen in childhood and are mostly associated with cutaneous and mucosal surfaces. Tracheal capillary hemangiomas are extremely rare. The most common presenting symptom is hemoptysis, ranging from minor to major and chronic cough. We present the case of a 12-year-old boy with recurrent hemoptysis due to tracheal capillary hemangioma, who was treated with interventional bronchoscopy.

PURPOSE: Retinal capillary hemangioma (RCH) can occur in isolation or may be associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease. Infantile capillary haemangioma (IH) is the most common congenital vascular tumor of childhood and infancy. Although the majority of these lesions regress spontaneously, many of children with IH particularly in the periocular or orbital region need treatment. PURPOSE: To assess the effects of systemic propranolol on refractive error in infants with periocular capillary hemangiomas.
METHODS: A single-center study of consecutive patients with capillary hemangiomas treated with systemic propranolol. Refractive data were analyzed using Long's matrix formalism and the methods of Harris and Kaye.

This chapter describes how to separate the enantiomers of acidic or neutral substances using dual CD systems made up of a negatively charged CD derivative, i.e., sulfobutyl-β-CD (SB-β-CD) or carboxymethyl-β-CD (CM-β-CD), in combination with a neutral one, namely, heptakis(2,3,6-tri-O-methyl)-β-CD (TM-β-CD). METHODS: All patients with eyelid infantile capillary hemangiomas at risk of developing amblyopia seen between January 2009 and January 2012 at the University Federico II, Naples, Italy, were treated with systemic propranolol (2 mg/kg body weight per day).
