Transhepatic percutaneous cholangiography continues to be a significant tool in the diagnosis of jaundice. It allows direct, easily achieved graphic delineation of the biliary system. Although specific diagnosis may not be possible, the site and extent of obstruction and the differentiation from intrahepatic parenchymal disease may be determined with a high degree of success.

BACKGROUND: Myxoglobulosis is considered a subtype of appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (AMN). Factors affecting the occurrence of myxoglobulosis include proximal appendiceal obstruction and mucosal secretion at the residual appendiceal mucosa. In addition, myxoglobulosis has also been reportedly associated with persistent chronic inflammation. We report a case of AMN with myxoglobulosis occurring 3 years after perforated barium appendicitis and the importance of caution during surgery for barium peritonitis and elucidate the pathology of myxoglobulosis.

A 42-year-old female diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis was found to have multiple polyps in the fundus of stomach. On histologic examination, the lesions were hamartomatous polyps. In tuberous sclerosis, many lesions occur in multiple organs and there are several reports about the frequent association of hamartomatous polyps of the colon. However, gastric manifestation of tuberous sclerosis has not been established probably due to its asymptomatic nature. This is the first report of multiple gastric hamartomatous polyposis in patient with tuberous sclerosis.

AIM: Mucocoele of the appendix denotes an obstructive dilatation of the appendiceal lumen due to abnormal accumulation of mucus. It is sometimes associated with pseudomyxoma peritonei, which predicts a malignant origin. We present the CT findings and additional imaging studies of 10 patients with neoplastic appendiceal mucocoele and discuss the clinical implications.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Abdominal CT findings from 10 patients with appendiceal mucocoele were reviewed. Barium enema, US and MRI were additionally performed in three patients. There were five men and five women aged 45-80 years.

BACKGROUND: Since the endoscopic resection of laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) involving the appendiceal orifice remains technically difficult, such lesions are usually treated by surgical resection.
