BACKGROUND: Abdominal pregnancy is a rare type of ectopic pregnancy. We describe here a case of ectopic pregnancy implanted under the surface of the diaphragm, presenting the particular features of imaging findings from ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Diaphragm metastases in ovarian cancer can be safely resected robotically in selected patients. The technique is similar to laparotomy, whether it is a peritoneal or full-thickness excision. OBJECTIVE: Neurocutaneous syndromes are a heterogeneous group of multisystemic disorders. We review the multimodality imaging findings in the disorders with a propensity for intraabdominal disease. We highlight more recently recognized disease patterns and discuss imaging surveillance optimization.
CONCLUSION: Knowledge of varied intraabdominal phenotypic expressions can increase diagnostic rates. Limitation of radiation dose must be considered in screening this tumor-prone population. Early detection of neoplastic findings is critical for morbidity and mortality reduction.

BACKGROUND: Diaphragm dysfunction is well-known to limit quality of life and prognosis of patients with heart failure (HF), but its underlying mechanisms are not well understood. In an animal model for HF we recently showed that impaired diaphragm contractility arises at the single fiber level and is associated with sarcomeric injuries. For optimal muscle function and sarcomeric stability passive elastic structures, like titin, are indispensable. Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) as well as lens-iris diaphragm retropulsion syndrome (LIDRS) may negatively influence the course of the modern cataract procedure. In case of simultaneous presence of both syndromes, the LIDRS may paradoxically ease the surgery by means of partial or transient elimination of the IFIS.
