With the routine use of sonography in the evaluation of suspected gallbladder disease, the familiarity of gallbladder duplication and its differential considerations are essential. Metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma occurs at a relatively late stage of the disease. Hematogenous and lymphatic metastases are the most common routes for dissemination of tumor cells. Hepatocellular carcinoma also extends into the adjacent portal vein and bile ducts. Since there is no peritoneum between the body of the gallbladder and the liver fossa, gallbladder cancer can easily cross the boundary. Salmonella infection increases the risk of chronic diseases, e.g., inflammatory bowel diseases, colon cancer, and gallbladder cancer. However, the mechanisms leading to the development of these conditions are still not completely understood. Here, we describe the methods to establish in vivo mouse models to study Salmonella-induced chronic infection and colon cancer. These models will allow us to investigate the initiation and progression of diseases.
