Ureterocele, which is a cystic dilatation of the terminal ureter, is usually associated with the upper moiety in a case of the duplex system. Giant hydronephrosis, a rare entity, is usually due to pelviureteric junction obstruction and is usually diagnosed in infants and children. We report a unique case of a unilateral complete duplex system with ureterocele with giant hydronephrosis of the upper moiety in an adult woman presenting as an abdominal lump. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of giant hydronephrosis associated with ureterocele in an adult patient.

The postnatal treatment of asymptomatic unilateral hydronephrosis due to ureteropelvic junction obstruction remains controversial, and the timing of and indications for surgical intervention are continuously debated. Prostate cancer is one of the most common male malignancies, although it rarely metastasizes to the ureter. PURPOSE: In infants with SFU (Society for Fetal Urology) grade 3-4 congenital hydronephrosis, 99mTc-mercaptoacetyltriglycine diuretic renography assesses differential function and drainage half-time. We routinely also include the percent of radiotracer drained after 30 minutes of diuresis as well as after 15 minutes with the patient in the upright position. Mucopolysaccharidosis type II (MPS II) is caused by deficiency of lysosomal enzyme iduronate-2-sulfatase. Insufficient activity of the enzyme results in accumulation of glycosaminoglycans leading to progressive multisystem pathologies. MPS II is less likely to be complicated by kidney and urinary tract problems. We report a boy with MPS II, who developed left hydronephrosis. His hydronephrosis improved after starting enzyme replacement therapy. It was suggested that MPS II was closely associated with the pathogenesis of hydronephrosis.

Uterine didelphys are rare malformations involving the Mullerian ducts. The incidence ranges from 0.1% to 3.8%. This wide range could be because of inaccurate diagnosis or to the fact that many of these diagnoses are not detected during the women's lifetime. Here, we report the management of a 16-year-old female patient who had uterine didelphys with obstructed hemivagina, resulting in obstructive hydronephrosis in her transplanted kidney.

We analysed surgical outcomes in 41 boys aged 2.5 months to 17 years with congenital hydrohephrosis who were treated with external drainage (nephrostoma, intubation drainage, Gibbon's drainage) and by means of stenting. We discovered that stent drainage produces urethral traumas, orchitis, orchoepididymitis. Our study made us to recommend external drainage methods for boys with congenital hydronephrosis undergoing reconstructive plastic surgery to prevent injuries and inflammation in the urogenital system.
